Here are some of the exercises I've been doing to improve the flexibility of my hands. I just do them whenever I think of it. You can find more exercises and advice online.

Palm stretchPlace hands palms together in front of your chest. Slowly lower your hands below the level of your elbows, opening the heels of the hands to feel a stretch in your palms and fingers. Hold 5-10s. | |
Finger raisesWith your palm and forearm flat on a table, lift each finger in turn and move it over to the side as you lower. Repeat to lift and return each finger to the original postition. | |
Web stretchesWith your hand and forearm flat on a table, spread your fingers wide. Hold 5-10s.I also use my other hand to carefully increase this stretch between individual pairs of fingers. |
